Cayman Blog from The Reef Resort in Grand Cayman

Vote for The Reef as Grand Cayman’s Leading Hotel !

Ok, this one is just for fun.

I do look on most of these industry awards as being pretty spurious, but when I see people making mileage out of winning a “World Travel Award” as a top hotel, then go to the website and see that nominations are based on the voting the previous year, it makes me suspicious of such a closed “club”.

Anyway, let’s test the power of the internet and referrals from this blog to other web forums, emails etc.

If you think that The Reef Resort is Grand Cayman’s Leading Hotel (of course!), please visit the World Travel Awards 2005 website here , then scroll down the page to the following category :

Grand Cayman’s Leading Hotel

Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa

Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort

The Grand Cayman Courtyard Hotel by Marriott

Where it says “other”, check that button and type in The Reef Resort.

If everyone who reads this blog enters, and you all cover the other internet forums and tell a few friends to vote, we could shock the vote counters.. or at least get on the ballot next year.

Thanks in advance for your support (boy, this sounds like politics!)

We are a full service resort/hotel.

In modern parlance though, we are a “mixed use” resort or “condo-hotel”, in that all suites are individually owned, whether by individual week (timeshare) owners, fractional (quarter share) owners or condo owners.

From a service standpoint then, we are a hotel, but one with many owners… just like the new Ritz Carlton in Cayman is, although you can become an owner at The Reef for a lot less than the $2,000,000 it costs at the Ritz !

Tried but in order to finalize my choice, it requests my Travel Agency information in a required field. Is this only for Travel Agents?

Hmmmm, this is a difficult one to answer Bob – I can’t really suggest that you make an agency up, as that would be cheating on our part.

Sorry, it looks like we might have been stopped in our tracks already!! :(
