Happy Halloween everyone! I would like to share a nice little story one of our owners experienced during this fall season. Thanks for sharing Bill & Laura!

Laura bought a nice pumpkin. It sat proudly on the edge of the deck toward the lake next to a beautiful mum plant. The chipmunks and squirrels had chipped away at the skin a bit but it was doing OK. We just turned the “modified parts” away from our view. One morning I got up and it appeared a racoon decided to bore into it. Poor pumpkin went down hill from there. The squirrels and chippies run in and out of the hole, have widened it and even have their own now. The pumpkin now sits on the end of a retaining wall and is the center of constant attraction.

Sandra from Reservations as well as other Cayman resorts and the DoT traveled to Houston, Texas last week to introduce The Reef, its brand new All Inclusive program and the Cayman Islands in general to agents and travelers in the area. The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism in Houston did a fantastic job putting this Blitz together. The 4-day event included visiting the main travel agencies in Houston, a VIP meeting with Cayman’s top producing Travel Agents as well as a 2 day consumer show inviting everyone who loves to travel. We look forward to welcoming our Texan guests who can take advantage of a 2h 20min non-stop flight right out of IAH on Continental – currently 4 times a week and as of summer 2008 DAILY!!! See you in the beautiful Cayman Islands!!!

Jan & Steve say: “Our darling granddaughter, Cayman Rose Lightner, just had her first bite of ravioli. Clearly, ravioli just hit her top ten list. Cayman’s mom & dad, Sara & Jamie, got engaged in 2004 right on the dance floor in front of the Barefoot man. Cayman has been to the Reef twice. She loves watching John feed the big fish off the dock at noon.”

They are well and back together. Tini had four beautiful kittens back in December and spent several weeks at the Humane Society in George Town. The volunteers there are doing a fantastic job for homeless cats & dogs on the island and Tini and her offspring were very well taken care of as it would have been difficult to guarantee their safety around the resort while nursing. They were visited often by Linda, Patricia and myself. Unfortunately one kittens was lost to a virus, but Patricia, our Human Recourses Manager actually decided to adopt two of Tini’s little ones and the third one also got adopted. Siblings Tini & Cosmo got both neutered/spayed and are now happy to be back together at The Reef as you can see.
The Cayman team of six (represented by the Department Of Tourism, Cayman Airways, The Marriott and The Reef Resort) answered 1000′s of questions regarding the islands, diving, flights, the hotels and many many more. Cayman Airways is also offering again non-stop flights from Boston to Grand Cayman.
